CHR Korat Day 3: English Programme

We went to the third school for the EL Programme.

There, the reading mentors taught them various action songs.

Mentors getting ready to lead in "Father Abraham".

Getting the students to form a circle while the mentors formed an inner circle to demonstrate the action song.

They learnt a second action song - "Bili-banja".

Later on, the students went on to play a game of "Word Hunt".

Each student was given a worksheet with pictures corresponding to those on the flash cards. They would then hunt for the pictures and copy the English word, with the help of the mentors.

Our mentor clearly enjoyed herself during this programme.

After completing their worksheets, the students would look for a mentor/teacher to mark their work. This is an example of a "marking station".

The teachers helped with marking too.

Looking for the correct flashcard was not an easy feat.

The students enjoyed the "Word Hunt". "Sa-nook," they said.

Students trying their best to complete the worksheet amidst the confusing "Family" words.

The mentors were enjoying themselves.

In the fourth school that the EL Programme team visited. Students were sitting in a circle, reading "Bark, Sparkle, Bark".

While two mentors led the reading in front of the students, the others moved around to help with pronunciation and meaning of words.
